The highly anticipated historical drama Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, has shifted its release date from December 2024 to February 14, 2025. The decision strategically avoids a box office clash with Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, slated for a nationwide release in December.
The new release date coincides with the Jayanti of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on February 19, 2025, adding historical and cultural significance to the film’s debut. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, Chhava also features Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.
The title “Chhava,” which translates to “lion cub” in Marathi, pays homage to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the valiant son of Shivaji Maharaj. The epic period drama promises a compelling narrative, grand visuals, and stellar performances, making it a must-watch in 2025.
With Pushpa 2 dominating December and Rashmika Mandanna starring in both films, this move ensures a fair opportunity for both projects to shine at the box office.
Mark your calendars for February 14, 2025, to witness the story of bravery, sacrifice, and legacy in Chhava!
