Eknath Shinde Confirms Maharashtra CM Decision Tomorrow, Cites Historic Achievements

Maharashtra’s caretaker Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, announced that the decision on the state’s next Chief Minister will be finalized on Monday, December 2. Speaking from his native village in Satara, Shinde reassured the public of his commitment to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Mahayuti alliance and praised the coalition’s governance over the past 2.5 years.

Shinde, who traveled to Satara to rest after a hectic election campaign, dismissed rumors about dissatisfaction with the BJP’s leadership. “I am doing well now. I had come here to rest after an exhaustive schedule. I’ve not taken a single leave during my tenure as CM. This government has always been for the people,” he stated.

Achievements of the Shinde-Led Government

Highlighting the work accomplished during his term, Shinde said, “Our government’s work over the last 2.5 years will be etched in golden letters in Maharashtra’s history. The people have given us a historic mandate, leaving the opposition without a leader of opposition.”

He emphasized the strong alliance among the Mahayuti partners, adding, “The BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP have a mutual understanding and are focused on addressing the people’s needs.”

Health Updates on Shinde

Reports emerged earlier about Shinde’s health condition, with his family doctor confirming that he had developed a fever and throat infection. Dr. RM Parte shared, “He is under IV therapy and will recover in two days. He plans to return to Mumbai on Sunday.”

Close aides attributed Shinde’s illness to exhaustion from his rigorous schedule, stating he had been unwell for some time. Despite his health challenges, Shinde reaffirmed his dedication to the party and its leadership, offering “unconditional support” to their decisions.

Oath-Taking Ceremony Scheduled for December 5

The Mahayuti government’s swearing-in ceremony is set for December 5 at Mumbai’s Azad Maidan, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in attendance. BJP state president Chandrashekhar Bawankule confirmed the event and expressed confidence in the coalition’s future governance.

Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar revealed that the Chief Ministerial position will go to the BJP, while Shiv Sena and the NCP will share two Deputy CM posts.

Focus on Maharashtra’s Development

As the Mahayuti government transitions into its next phase, Eknath Shinde’s leadership and collaborative efforts with the BJP and NCP aim to solidify Maharashtra’s progress. The announcement of the new CM candidate is eagerly awaited, marking a critical step in shaping the state’s future.
