Rahul Gandhi’s Bags Checked by Election Officials in Amravati: Watch the Video

Election Officials Inspect Rahul Gandhi’s Bags During Campaign in Amravati
With just four days left for the Maharashtra Assembly elections, political campaigns are heating up across the state. Prominent leaders from all parties are intensifying their efforts to sway voters. While BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, have already visited the state for rallies, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also been actively campaigning for his party’s candidates.

During his visit to Amravati, Rahul Gandhi was seen disembarking from a helicopter when election officials conducted a check on his bags. The footage of this incident quickly went viral, raising eyebrows among political circles. This is particularly significant given the ongoing controversy about the scrutiny of opposition leaders’ bags during the election period.

Opposition Allegations of Selective Scrutiny
The issue of bag checks has been a point of contention in recent days, with opposition leaders alleging that only members of the INDIA alliance are being targeted. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier shared a video showing election officials inspecting his bags, questioning whether the same treatment is given to BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Modi. In response, BJP leaders have also circulated videos showing election officials checking the bags of their top leaders, including Amit Shah, Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar.

Rahul Gandhi Takes a Dig at Modi
During his campaign speech, Rahul Gandhi took a sharp dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that the PM no longer remembers what he says. Rahul shared a story his sister had told him, where she remarked that the Prime Minister had echoed points similar to those made by Congress. “Maybe his memory is fading,” Rahul quipped, adding that former U.S. President Joe Biden had experienced a similar issue, where he needed others to remind him of things.

Maharashtra Elections: Voting on November 20
The Maharashtra Assembly elections will be held on November 20, with voting taking place across 288 constituencies. The results will be counted on November 23. The state’s political landscape is currently divided, with the BJP, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) working together through the Maha Yuti alliance, while the Congress, NCP (under Sharad Pawar), and Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) are campaigning to reclaim power through the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance.

As the election campaign intensifies, both alliances are sparing no effort to gain the support of voters, with political rallies, speeches, and public engagements dominating the state’s political narrative in the lead-up to voting day.
